Excise police seize drugs

PESHAWAR: The excise police on Monday arrested two drug peddlers and recovered a large quantity of narcotics.

According to a spokesman for the excise police station for Peshawar region, a bid to smuggle 10kgof heroin to Punjab was foiled on the Ring Road Motorway.

“During the operation, heroin was recovered from the secret compartments of a vehicle,” he said.

The spokesman said drug smuggler Rehman Syed of Timargara was arrested.

In another operation, the excise police recovered six kilogrammes of hashish from a vehicle and arrested drug peddler Zeeshan Ahmed of Gulbela Kochian, Peshawar. They registered cases against the arrested men and started quizzing them.
