GUJRAT: A member of a music group was shot dead and his two colleagues sustained bullet wounds during an alleged robbery bid near village Langey in the Mungowal police limits .

Reports said a Malakwal-based musical group had performed at a wedding ceremony and as soon as they left the venue late on Sunday night, three armed motorcyclists started chasing them.

The armed men signaled the vehicle of the group to stop but the driver continued driving it. At this, the robbers opened fire at the vehicle. As a result of the firing, one Javed Iqbal was shot dead after a bullet hit him in the head whereas Zameerul Hassan and Yameen Raza were injured.

The body of the deceased and the injured were shifted to Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital (ABSTH) where condition of the injured was stated to be out of danger.

Police registered a case against unidentified suspects on the report of Zameerul Hassan.
