Rational voting

Published February 23, 2024

POLITICAL parties in Balochistan have been cheating people for long. Other than rhetorics, they take merely cosmetic steps while avoiding the meaningful. For instance, they provide solar panels to a few farmers for harvesting, while leave no stone unturned to push the farmers’ children away from the fundamental right to education.

Truly, the province has been ruled and looted by different political parties that have been in power over the years as part of a game of musical chairs. Unfortunately, no viable project has ever been seen for the betterment of the people. And those elected tend to make tall claims and hollow promises for providing modern education system, better roads, electricity, gas and much more. All this is mere deception.

Every time there is an election in the country, people talk about voting for those who have compassion, integrity and a vision. Nobody tells the people where to find such candidates.

United we stand, divided we fall, we are told. The people are reminded ahead of elections that one needs to choose the better candidates for our generations by getting united and thinking rationally, However, the fact is that if people do think rationally, they will hardly ever find a reason to vote.
