LAHORE, March 4: Three more matches will be played in the National Quaid-i-Azam Gold Cup polo on Sunday after a day’s rest on Saturday. Having the services of a six-goal player Guillermo Cuitino, an Argentinean, Diamond Paints will play Bank Alfalah, who also have seven-goal Argentinean Jose Rivas.

In all, six teams are taking part in the country’s most prestigious polo contest. All teams have one foreign player, as four Argentineans and two Indians are enjoying the polo season in Lahore.

Union Bank will face Green Force in the second match.

The bankers have five-goal Vishal Singh while Green Force inducted Jota Chavanne, a five-goal player.

The third match will be played between the teams of 13-goal Sanofi Aventis and Lindt Chocolate.

The national polo championship has been organised since 1963 with breaks in 1966, 1967, 1972 and 1987.

The competition is being held on round robin system and all matches are of five-chukker each instead of four.

The main final and subsidiary final will be played on March 12.

Following is the schedule of the remaining matches: March 5: Diamond Paints vs Bank Alfalah; Union Bank vs Green Force; Satofi Aventis vs Lindt Chocolate. March 7: Diamond Paints vs Lindt Chocolate; Union Bank vs Sanofi Aventis; Green Force vs Bank Alfalah. March 9: Diamond Paints vs Sanofi Aventis; Green Force vs Lindt Chocolate; Union Bank vs Bank Alfalah. March 12: Final and subsidiary final.
