PESHAWAR, March 4: Four persons, including a woman and two minors, were killed and a boy injured when a container truck rammed into a taxicab here at Hayatabad Township on Saturday.

The 40-feet long container truck overturned after the driver lost control on the wheel, resulting in the death of the cab driver and three of its passengers, hailing from Afghanistan.

The truck driver and his companions escaped from the scene.

The deceased were identified as Wadood Shah (driver of the taxicab), Ms Haleema, her two-year-old son Kashif and a Ms Rona, aged 13.

The Hayatabad police station registered an FIR against the unidentified driver of the truck.

KILLED: A resident of North Waziristan Agency was killed in front of a local hotel by his rival of the same area on Saturday morning. However, soon after the murder, a policeman, who was on duty in the area, rushed to the scene and arrested the accused.
