Caretaker Information Minister Murtaza Solangi has said the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs would forward a summer to convene the National Assembly after the Election Commission of Pakistan releases the list of elected candidates.

According to the Constitution, the president is bound to convene the NA session after the official announcement of election results or issuance of its notification within 21 days.

While speaking to the media today, Solangi said an investigation committee had been formed to probe the allegations by former Rawalpindi commissioner and the ECP was taking action on the matter.

“We should trust our institutions and system,” state-run Radio Pakistan quoted him as saying.

Solangi added that the caretaker government had fulfilled its responsibility by holding the general elections.
