ISLAMABAD, March 3: The board of governors of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) has constituted two management committees to run the affairs of the foundation’s schools and colleges.
The OPF managing director would head the management committees. Eminent educationists would be inducted into the management committees.
Chairing the 99th meeting of the board here on Thursday, Minister for Labour, Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis Ghulam Sarwar Khan said that the issue of degree-awarding status of the OPF College had been resolved by affiliating the college with the University of Balochistan.
Minister of State for Overseas Pakistanis Senator Tariq Azim said that a separate case for preparing a charter for getting the degree-awarding status for the college was in process. On the issue of admission policy, he said the children of overseas Pakistanis were given preference in admission to the OPF institutions.
The board also approved construction of a hostel at the OPF Boys College, Islamabad, and directed early start of construction work.
