ISLAMABAD: Robbers shot and injured three persons in separate incidents and looted cash and valuables worth millions of rupees, police said on Monday.

Two gunmen raided a digital finance platform office of Hafiz Mohammad Saqib Shahzad at G-9/2 and held him at gunpoint along with four other persons and robbed him of Rs2.29 million. The robbers also snatched Rs84,000 and a mobile phone from Mohammad Fayyaz.

However, those in the office put up resistance after which the robbers opened fire, injuring Shahzad. Hassan Zahir, a worker at a milk shop, was also injured when a bullet hit him.

Likewise, gunmen also shot and injured another man in a similar criminal activity in I-10/4. Two persons riding a motorcycle intercepted Faisal Khan and snatched two mobile phones from him. While escaping from the scene, they shot and injured him after Khan tried to overpower the gunmen.

In another incident, robbers looted two motorcycles, cash and mobile phones from two persons in Golra, the police said. Four persons armed with weapons intercepted Afzal Khan and his friends Mohammad Sarfraz and Mohammad Arif Farooqi at the railway crossing at Golra.

They took away two motorcycles along with their mobile phones.

Moreover, a gang of robbers robbed a man of his vehicle, cash and mobile phone after abducting him.

A man hired a rickshaw of Salman Khan for Chungi No. 26 and after reaching Dhoke Qureshi he asked the driver to stop. Then all of a sudden, three armed persons appeared there and overpowered Khan. They took him to a nearby house and tied his hands and legs and looted Rs35,000, a mobile phone and escaped. After some time, Khan succeeded in untying himself and found that his rickshaw was also missing.

Police have registered separate cases and launched investigations into the incidents.
