BAHAWALNAGAR: A married woman accidentally shot herself dead while trying to shoot a TikTok video in Haveli Lakha, Minchinabad police said.

The body was brought to Minchinabad THQ hospital for an autopsy on Saturday, where the police recorded the initial statement of the victim’s family.

Quoting family members, a police source told Dawn that 21-year-old Sana, a resident of Bahawalnagar, got married in Minchinabad and was staying with her relatives in Haveli Lakha on the day of the incident.

He said the incident happened late on Friday night when the woman took a licenced pistol in the home and started shooting videos. She was trying to strike a pose of a lady soldier with a gun on her shoulder when the pistol went off and the bullet hit her on the right temple.

The family members found her lying on the floor in a pool of blood when they rushed to the scene after hearing the gunshot, he said.

Bleeding profusely, she was rushed to THQ Hospital, where the doctors declared her dead.
