LARKANA, March 2: A division bench of the Sindh High Court, Larkana circuit, has directed the Sindh government to immediately process the matter of lifting ban and allowing competent authority to make appointments for schools without teachers.

The bench comprises Justice Mohammed Saddik Leghari and Justice Nadeem Azhar Siddiqui.

The SHC order said that in case the mater was not processed or the order was not complied with, secretary education and another responsible would expose to an action of contempt of court.

Petitioner Atta Mohammed Sakhani, a resident of Kariyo Sabar Khan, in a constitution petition said that Mohammed Khan Wahocho (head master), Abdul Qadir Phulpoto and Mohammed Siddik Wahocho had closed a middle school for last eight years.

They have taken away the entire record to their houses.

He said that 46 primary schools in Mirpur union council of the Warah taluka were lying closed for the last 10 years and teachers were getting salaries without discharging duties.

He said that Head Master Mohammed Khan Wahocho, Abdul Qadir Phulpoto and Mohammed Siddik Wahocho of the Middle School Kario Sabar Khan had not only drawing salaries for the last five years but also misappropriated funds of the school management committee and students scholarships.

The petitioner said that he had tried from every corner to get the schools reopened but in vain.

He prayed the court to direct the concerned officers for initiating action against the teachers of 47 schools. He prayed action against them for the misappropriation of SMC, scholarship funds and closing schools.
