ISLAMABAD: Gunmen injured three persons in a robbery in capital, police said on Tuesday.
In the first incident a gang of seven armedmen snatched a truck loaded with battery scrap weighing 11 ton, cash and mobile phones after beating its driver and the scrap dealer, the police said, adding that the injured were identified as Mohammad Amjad Khan and his driver.
The incident took place when Khan and his driver was transporting the scrap form Akora Khattak to Kamoke.
A Suzuki pickup collided with the truck when it reached the Kak Bridge Expressway and as a result the truck stopped there.
The armed men disembarked form the pickup and started abusing the riders of the truck, the police said.
As a result, they sustained injuries, they said, adding that later the gunmen looted mobile phones along with Rs11,700 cashfrom them at gunpoint and escaped.
In another incident, gunmen shot and injured a civilian official of Pak Navy during a robbery in F-13, police said, adding that the injured was identified as Mubashir Ahmed.
Ahmad, who ran a radio cab, picked up a man from Choongi No 26 for F-13. When they reached there the man pulled out a pistol and held him up at gunpoint and snatched Honda 70, a mobile phone, Rs15,000 cashand service card from him. The robber beat up Ahmed when he tried to put up resistance and shot him and injured.
A case was registered with Sumbal police station under section 394 of PPC (Voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery) against the robber, they added.
