PESHAWAR: Peshawar Electric Supply Company has announced it will ensure uninterrupted power supply throughout the province on Feb 7, 8 and 9 to ensure smooth conduct of elections.

Pesco chief executive officer Eng Akhtar Hameed Khan assured the consumers that all arrangements had been made to ensure smooth supply of electricity across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Usman Saleem, a spokesman for the company, on Tuesday said a control room had also been set up at the Pesco head office to deal with any emergency situation. He said the control room supervised by Pesco chief engineers would monitor all the important election centres.

He said uninterrupted supply of electricity would be ensured to all polling stations, important election offices, especially the Provincial Election Commission Office, Nadra office, district election commissioners’ offices, district returning officers and returning officers.

Apart from this, uninterrupted power would be provided to all the communication towers to maintain the communication system.

Besides, all operations officers of Pesco, including executive engineers and sub-divisional officers would be on high alert for the three days to provide the best services. Moreover, necessary repair work on electrical installations had also been completed and all safety measures were being ensured.
