LARKANA: In an attempt to woo people to vote for the PPP, Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari vowed to launch more pro-people projects if the Peoples Party wins the Feb 8 general elections.

The party was fighting for peoples’ rights while others were after the chair, she claimed while addressing a workers’ convention in the village of Anwarabad on Monday.

She also talked about mega health projects, which the PPP had initiated to offer free services to people, paired with regularisation of kutchi abadis and promised more such facilities.

Pointing to the participants, she said: “You remained stood unshaken with us in all ups and downs as we shared happiness and sorrows.” She asked where others [politicians] were when Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was amongst people during the massive floods and rains.

To alleviate the sufferings of the marooned people, she said, a project of two million houses was underway and women would be made owners of those houses.

She appealed to the people to vote for Bilawal and the party’s electoral symbol ‘Arrow’ to empower her brother to fight for their rights. She named the facilities — NICVD, SIUT, Trauma Centre, Rescue 1122, the Child Life Foundation, Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences and other institutions — which, according to her, the PPP had established during its tenure. She was confident that the PPP would emerge victorious in the Feb 8 polls.

Faryal Talpur, who is contesting from PS-10 (Ratodero), on the occasion aksed people for early arrival at polling stations to cast votes and urged family heads to ensure huge participation of females in elections.

Touching on the 10-point election agenda of the PPP, she said education was an effective instrument to address the menace of tribal clashes. She said education would play a great role in ending such enmities.
