LAHORE: Istehkam-i-Pakistan Party (IPP) patron-in-chief Jahangir Khan Tareen says he will work with Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif to stabilise the national economy after the Feb 8 election.

Addressing a workers convention in Multan on Tuesday, he announced his decision to contest the election from his home city [Multan] and said he was happy to return to his roots and serve the people here as he had done in Lodhran, his previous constituency.

He said the foundation of every country and nation was the economy and that he would start a programme with the Sharifs to make the economy grow and benefit everyone.

He said when everyone in the country got his rightful share, the nation would progress.

Tareen said he would do such work that the people of Multan would be proud of their choice and he would not disappoint them.

He was accompanied by his political adviser Mian Muhammad Jahangir and the candidates for the provincial assembly constituency PP-215 Shahid Mahmood Khan, Dr. Abdul Saboor, Azhar Salim Kamalana and others.

He also met Hazrat Shah Shams shrine caretaker Makhdoom Aun Raza Shamsi, who announced joining the IPP along with devotees.

He also inaugurated the election office in UC 81 and 82 and participated in the corner meetings held by Malik Nisar Siddiqui, Malik Zubair Kamboh, Arif Qureshi and others.

Earlier, Mr Tareen distributed wheelchairs among 100 physically challenged people in Multan and expressed his support for them.
