LOWER DIR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz candidate for NA-7 Yasir Khan has promised construction of Chakdara-Timergara Expressway, resumption of work on Chakdara-Chitral CPEC route, establishment of a kidney hospital, upgradation of District Headquarters Hospital to teaching hospital and provision of gas to all parts of the district.

Talking to reporters at the Timergara Press Club here on Tuesday, he claimed the nation was eyeing Nawaz Sharif to become the next prime minister.

He said PML-N would also form government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with the support of other political parties. He said Lower Dir district had been deprived of development and that he would initiate mega development projects in the district after coming into power. He said people would be provided with gas facilities irrespective of their political affiliations.

Mr Yasir said establishment of an industrial zone, construction of more grid stations, making functional the Koto hydropower station, establishment of a kidney hospital and construction of playgrounds were needed in the district.

JOINS PPP: A former village council chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, Mashooq Jan, along with his supporters on Tuesday announced to join Pakistan Peoples Party during a function held in Koheri village of Balambat.

He had joined PTI in 2018 after quitting PPP.

PPP candidates for NA-6 Mohammad Hanif Khan, PK-14 Mohammad Zamin, tehsil general secretary Gul Mir Khan and others addressed the function.

CONVENTION: Addressing a workers’ convention in Sheikhan area of Timergara, Jamaat-i-Islami candidate for NA-7 Maulana Mohammad Ismail and PK-16 nominee Shad Nawaz Khan said JI would win majority of seats in Lower Dir.

They insisted JI would develop infrastructure and struggle for enforcement of Sharia in the country after coming to power.

They said the JI former lawmakers had established the University of Malakand, BISE Malakand Chakdara, constructed 76 kilometre-long Balambat irrigation channel, several bridges, established Timergara Medical College, initiated work on Koto hydropower station, upgraded degree colleges in Timergara and Gulabad to postgraduate level, established a public library in Timergara and a network of schools and colleges across the district.
