LAHORE: The Punjab Bar Council (PbBC) designated Asad Mahmood Abbasi, one of its members, as a nominee for the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) during its 278th meeting on Saturday.
Chaired by Additional Advocate General Punjab Chaudhry Ghulam Sarwar Nihang, who serves as the bar’s chairman, the meeting unanimously selected Mr Abbasi to serve as a member of the JCP in accordance with Article 175-A (5) of the constitution.
This appointment is for a duration of two years.
