MIRPURKHAS, Feb 27: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE), Mirpurkhas, has raided the local office of the provincial buildings department and seized record while some record was found missing from office.

A complaint was filed with the ACE by contractors that former executive engineer Nafees Ahmed Shaikh was trying to award contracts of Rs30 million to his favourites and tenders of schemes were to be given on Dec 27, 2005, but he did not attend the office and reportedly he took away the official record.

The ACE, led by circle officer Nazeer Ahmed Memon, raided the office in presence of Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Aslam and seized measurement book, case and construction files. The raiding team recorded statements of the engineer, the account clerk, the tender clerk and the present executive engineer.—BoC
