PESHAWAR, Feb 27: Jamaat-i-Islami staged a demonstration in protest against the detention of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal president Qazi Hussain Ahmad and other workers here on Monday.

A rally was taken out from Nishtarabad and its participants assembled at Hashtnagri chowck. The JI leaders Dr Iqbal Khalil and Haji Dost Mohammad led the rally.

Protesters chanted slogans against the government and demanded release of Qazi Hussain and workers who had been arrested by Punjab government. They also demanded of the government to lift ban on public meetings and rallies.
