PUBLIC HEALTH FACILITIES: I live in Sakhi Daud Wahi village, which is deprived of basic public health and many other essential facilities. The sewerage system of the village has collapsed, and there have been frequent outbreaks of malaria, typhoid and gastrointestinal diseases. There is a lack of basic health units in the area. The residents have to travel long distances to have access to basic medical facilities. Thus, the relevant authorities should establish basic health units, repair the sewerage system and pumping station, and ensure the availability of basic facilities for the residents of Sakhi Daud.

ADVENTURE: Being a resident of Defence Housing Authority (DHA) in Karachi is an adventure in itself. Each and every street has been dug up. It seems like there is no proper planning before digging up the roads which has created a mess for the residents. The authorities have made one-way roads in every street where people park their vehicles and motorbikes. It takes almost 15-20 minutes just to cross a couple of diversions to reach one’s home. There- fore, the relevant authorities should ensure timely completion of drainage work, and to inform the residents about a possible timeline in this regard.

BE YOUR OWN HERO: Being your own hero is all about your personal growth and self-discovery. It is about recognising your worth, values and goals, and having the confidence, self-respect and determination to overcome challenges. Being your own hero needs self-awareness, self-belief, willingness to take risks and learn from mistakes. Believing in yourself and not depending on others is the secret to success. Being your own hero means being true to yourself. It means following your dreams to find happiness in life. Life is full of ups and downs. Live your life according to your values and beliefs. Be your own hero.
