KARACHI, Feb 26: Over 7,000 PIA Scouts are taking part in the week-long birth anniversary celebrations of Lord Baden Powell, the founder of the scout movement, at eleven districts of PIA Boy Scouts Association across the country.

The celebrations, which started on Feb 22, would continue till Feb 28. The programmes being held in Karachi, Quetta, Multan, Faisalabad, Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar at the scouts’ centres include seminars, quiz competitions, declamation contest, and poster competitions besides field activities.

A prize distribution ceremony was held in Karachi with participation of hundreds of scouts. Provincial Commissioner of PIA Scouts Ghazanfar Mashkoor was the chief guest, who gave away awards to the winners.

The Cricket Academy District of PIA Scouts secured first position in declamation contest, Karachi Booking Office District got first position in quiz and poster competitions.

Mr Mashkoor distributed cash awards and certificates among those who clinched President Rover Scouts Badge, Quaid-i-Azam Badge, Allama Iqbal Badge, Chief Scout and Provincial Commissioner Awards.—PPI
