PESHAWAR, Feb 25: The Muttahida Labour Federation of the NWFP has postponed its Feb 28 sit-in call after assurance by Industries Minister Malik Zafar Azam Khan that genuine demands of the organisation would be redressed.

The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by the minister.

Industries Secretary Ihsanullah Khan, Labour Director Khalid Jan, the Labour Federation’s president Mohammad Iqbal and other labour leaders attended the meeting.

Mr Azam eulogized the positive attitude of the industrial workers and their leaders for postponing the agitation call, stating that the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal government was not oblivious to their problems and was making all-out efforts to redress their genuine demands.

The minister assured the delegation that the provincial government would take all possible measures to reopen the Aman Garh Textile Mills and the federal government would also be approached for the purpose.—PPI
