Over 50 killed in BD fire

DHAKA, Feb 24: At least 50 people died and over 100 injured in a fire at a textile mill at the Kalurghat industrial area of the port city of Chitagong late Thursday night. As many as 40 dead bodies were recovered overnight and one of the injured died in hospital on Friday morning, official sources said. Unofficial sources, however, put the number of deaths at 55 and said some workers remained unaccounted for in the disaster at KTS Textile in the BSCIC industrial belt at Kalurghat.
