KARACHI, Feb 24: History was made on Friday when Pakistan became the second country after Australia to use orange balls on the opening day of the Twenty20 Cricket Cup.

They made the game interesting, innovative and thrilling for spectators.

“It’s definitely a great idea and good attraction for the crowd,” said Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik.

He, however, said there was a problem in sighting the ball because of orange coloured attire of opposing team, Lahore Eagles.

Imran Farhat who blasted 62 off 37 balls with nine 4s and a six said, “I enjoyed playing against the orange ball.”

Two Pakistan pacemen, Rana Navedul Hasan and Mohammad Asif, described it an interesting exercise.

“The orange ball was swinging less as compared to white and red balls but it was a good experience,” they said.

Nearly 1,000 spectators enjoyed the matches at the UBL Sports Complex with several top players in action.
