RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) served 548 legal notices on owners of illegal housing schemes, lodged 212 FIRs, sealed more than 183 offices and sent 129 applications to the cyber crime wing.

These actions were conducted by the Joint Task Force of RDA, District Administration and local Police formed by Punjab Government on the recommendation of Divisional Intelligence Committee after submitting reports that the owners of the illegal housing societies established hideouts for the criminals, illegal weapons and use private force in the guise of security guards.

The RDA spokesman said that RDA director general, deputy commissioner and city police officer are monitoring the operation against illegal housing societies on the special instructions of the Rawalpindi CommissionerLiaquat Ali Chatta to stop their fraud.

Strict action will be taken against those encroaching on people’s lands, whereas RDA has informed the general public to avoid investing in these illegal housing societies and check the RDA websitewww.rda.gop.pkbefore investing in any project, he added.

He said not only operations had been conducted against illegal housing societies, their offices have also been demolished, FIRs have also been registered and applications sent in the Cyber Crime Wing.

Actions have been taken against illegal housing schemes day and night. Among illegal schemes are Blue World City, Multi Garden, Abdullah City, Avalon City, Faisal Town Phase-2, Rudn Enclave, Capital Valley, Shaheen Garden, Atlantic City, Century Town, High Capital City, Royal Farm, Residencia, Apna Ghar, Chinar Enclave, Eman Garden, Theme Park View, Al-Imran Homes, Imarat Hoon Farm Houses, Khan Builders, Kashmir Homes, Imam Hassan Towns, Usmania Fort Housing Scheme, Haider Residencia, Khalid Colony, Al-Baraka Garden, Zam Zam Villas, Eman Garden, Chinar Enclave, Gulshan-i-Abbas, Potohar Valley, Dua Garden, Anmol Garden, Ameen Housing, Watan Enclave, Cighu Farm House, Green Oaks (Harutus Flora), Manan City, Shakir Farms among the hundreds of illegal housing societies.

He said that so far 548 legal notices have been sent to the owners, sponsors of illegal housing societies, 218 have been issued challans, FIRs have been lodged against more than 212, more than 183 offices have been sealed and 129 applications have been sent to Cyber Crime Wing for legal action.

He said that nine accused of illegal housing societies management are in custody, 28 housing societies owners’ securities have been confiscated, 72 cases are under hearing in the session court and 24 cases are also under hearing in the high court.

He said that RDA recovered target of Rs52.11 million has also been achieved. He said that RDA has asked investors not to invest in a housing society until RDA issues NOC.
