Fazl says US pursuing double standards

ISLAMABAD, Feb 23: MMA central leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that according to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) report, the involvement of army in corruption is higher than in other institutions.

Speaking at a condolence reference for late Maulana Asad Madni here on Thursday, Maulana Fazl said the US was leading western capitalistic system after British colonialism. The US is bent upon dominating the politics and economy of the entire world.

He alleged that US was pursuing double standards. On the one hand it was playing the trumpet of democracy and on the other it was raising a hue and cry over the success of religious parties in Pakistan, Palestine and Algeria.

He claimed that the NAB was ‘blackmailing politicians’. “We were informed during NA session that ratio of corruption in the institution of army was higher than elsewhere.”

He said the government was trying to send us to Brussels so that we could address their parliament and on the other hand the session of parliament had been prorogued. Brussels parliamentary delegation was a political gimmick, he added.—Online
