The Israeli news channel, Kan 11, has stated that the war cabinet assessed the chance of a hostage deal as low after a meeting yesterday, Al Jazeera reports.
Israel’s cabinet was not sure if Hamas wanted a deal and, therefore, was making unrealistic demands or if the group was genuinely seeking an agreement, the channel stated on X.
Israeli officials reportedly concluded that the only way to make the deal happen was to increase the pressure.
