SHIKARPUR, Feb 2: The police have started functioning under the new police system, introduced by the present government.

According to the system, the police investigation branch has been established in the district which will be headed by the Superintendent of Police and the District Police Officer will control law and order as well as maintain police wing.

This was told by Shikarpur DPO Nadir Hussain Khoso while speaking at a special meeting of the police officers here on Saturday.

To deal with investigation work 29 investigation teams have been constituted at different police stations under the supervision of 4 police inspectors at the taluka headquarters, 10 sub-inspectors and 15 ASIs in the urban and rural areas of the district.

These officers have been posted and provided required facilities.
