CHAGHI is home to two significant projects, the Saindak gold and copper project, and the Reko Diq project. However, despite the region’s potential for economic development, the area lacks educational facilities.
While there are primary, middle and high schools in some of the areas, extreme shortage of teaching staff and essential facilities has been a stumbling block in the way of getting education in Chaghi.
One of the most alarming aspects of this situation is limited access to education for girls. The absence of colleges and universities makes it exceptionally challenging for young girls to pursue higher education. As a result, a significant portion of the population is being deprived of educational opportunities, and girls are the worst sufferers in this regard.
Some urgent steps must be taken to establish educational institutions in Chaghi. Investing in education not only empowers individuals, but also contributes to the long-term progress and prosperity of the entire community.
The policymakers need to prioritise the development of educational infrastructure in Chaghi, ensuring that every child, regardless of gender, has access to quality education.
It is only through such initiatives that Pakistan can unlock the true potential of the region and pave the way for a brighter and more prosperous future.
