The Israeli military is in the final stages of its ground offensive in the northern Gaza Strip, according to its spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, Al Jazeera reports.

He said at a briefing that the Israeli military had now begun fighting Hamas in the Gaza City neighbourhoods of Daraj and Tuffah, having dismantled Hamas battalions further north, according to a report by the Times of Israel.

He also said that the tunnel network reportedly uncovered under Palestine Square in Gaza City was where “senior Hamas members managed the fighting on October 7”.
