KARACHI, Feb 22: Two ships carrying edible oil and diesel oil were berthed at MPT and Fotco Terminal during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, three more ships to load and offload containers, rice and iron ore also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy fell to 56 per cent as only five ships, Sealand Freedom, Eburna, Warbah, Euro Ace and Mar Reina, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, edible oil, diesel oil, seeds and iron ore.

Brisk cargo handling was witnessed at the wharves where a total tonnage of 92,690 tons comprising 66,578 tons of import and 26,112 tons of export cargo was handled.

Sailing was active as Sealand Freedom and Glory left the port while Asian Gyro and Warbah were due to depart. Four ships, Alam Pinter, Huashan Hai, Asian Gyro and Al-Kestis, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.

Four ships, Kia Waledd, Deila, Natalia and Taiking, were due to arrive on Thursday.
