National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir says he will continue his controversial campaign of weapons distribution as long as he is in power, Al Jazeera reports.

“As long as I am on duty, I will continue to distribute as many weapons as possible to the eligible. No political campaign will deter me,” Ben-Gvir said on X.

The minister came under fire after the Israeli Haaretz newspaper reported that people close to him received permission to grant gun permits without having received adequate training to screen applicants.
