TAXILA: A man shot dead his mother over a domestic dispute in Islamkot village in the limits of Hassanabdal police station on Wednesday, police sources said.

Touqeer Ahmed exchanged hot words with his mother over some dispute, and out of rage, he shot her.

Police shifted the body of the victim to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ) Hassanabdal for an autopsy and arrested the suspect.

Meanwhile, two bodies were recovered in mutilated condition from two different locations of the Ghazi Brotha water channel in the limits of Attock Saddar police station.

Police said as the level of water in the channels has decreased, two bodies, in 50s and 30s, surfaced in two different parts. Respective police have registered cases and launched further investigations.

In another incident, an elderly couple received burn injuries as the house caught fire due to gas leakage near Government Polytechnic College Attock on Wednesday.
