The flooding of the tunnels in Gaza by the Israeli military does not have “any military value”, military and political analyst Elihah Magnier told Al Jazeera.

“We have seen how Israelis on television have already flooded a few tunnels and we have seen that it had no effect whatsoever on the military performance of Hamas because they are still attacking the Israeli forces and they are inflicting very heavy casualties on them,” he said.

Magnier also said Israel is aware of the fact that the flooding of the tunnels is creating danger for the Palestinian civilians as the fresh water is being contaminated and the foundation of the houses is compromised.

“It is detrimental for the civilians to have all this flood under their knees by the Israelis who are very much aware of what they are doing but they really don’t care,” he said.
