Match-winning knock by Mujahid

ISLAMABAD, Feb 20: Mujhaid Hameed struck an unbeaten half century as Punjab Club thrashed Kent Club by seven wickets to qualify for the semifinals of the Islamabad-Rawalpindi Inter-city Super cricket tournament on Monday at the Diamond Ground.

He stroked 11 fours in his fine innings of 55 that helped Punjab overhaul Kent’s total of 110 in the 17th over, losing three wickets.

Kent were restricted by Atif Amin Butt who took three wickets for 24 runs with Ulfat Hussain picking up 2-33. Manzoor Ali with 39 was the top scorer.

Punjab’s win completed the semifinal line-up of the competition after Diamond, Victory and Gul Clubs had qualified earlier.

Tournament officials said that dates for the semifinals will be announced shortly.
