MANSEHRA/HARIPUR: Four persons, including a man and his son, were killed and 10 others were injured in separate road accidents in Mansehra and Haripur on Monday, rescue officials said.

They said a car fell into a ravine in Kholia area of Balakot on Monday, killing a man and his son and injuring four other members of the family.

They said Mohammad Khalid’s family was going to Balakot from Mahandri.

Rescue 1122 personnel rushed onto the spot and shifted the injured to the Civil Hospital, Balakot, where doctors pronounced Mohammad Khalid and his son, Mohammad Naqeeb, as brought dead.

The injured, including Khalid’s wife and three children, were referred to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital, where, according to doctors condition of two was critical.

Also, a car rammed into the Hazara Expressway’s boundary wall in Gandia area, leaving three tourists seriously injured.

The tourists were on their way back to Lahore in a car after a recreational visit to Kaghan valley.

Rescue personnel shifted the injured, including Mohammad Sajjad, 27, Rehan 24, and Jamila Bibi, 43, to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital.

Meanwhile, two people were killed and three others injured critically when a speeding car rammed into a truck on the GT Road in Haripur on Monday.

Police quoted eyewitness as saying that five friends were returning to Haripur city after attending a marriage ceremony in Kalanwan village, when their car collided with a truck near the Tank Chowk.

Two of the five inmates of the car died on the spot, and the rest were injured critically.

The rescue workers recovered the bodies after cutting the twisted metal of the damaged car and the truck. The deceased were identified as Umair Ahmed and Naveed, and the injured as Zeeshan Swati, his brother Shehzad Swati and their friend, Shahmeer.
