Husam Zomlot, the Palestinian envoy to the UK has shared pictures of what he says are Israeli forces “detaining and stripping civilians taken from a UN shelter in Gaza”.

“This evokes some of humanity’s darkest passages of history.,” he wrote in a post on X.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Shehada, the chief of communications at Euro-Med Monitor, said “known journalists were identified among those detained”.

He added that the Gaza branch chief of The New Arab was identified among those who were detained and being reported to be “surrendered Hamas militants”.
