TRAFFIC WOES

TRAFFIC WOES: The city of Sukkur is in the grip of severe traffic jams, making it impossible for commuters to reach hospitals, schools and offices in time. Being a large city where thousands of people move around for a variety of reasons, patients are the ones who really suffer due to traffic jams as their way to reach hospitals remains affected. The local authorities need to wake up to the situation, and initiate a thorough campaign to streamline the traffic flow.

NOISE POLLUTION: The unnecessary and irresponsible use of loudspeakers by political parties has become a nuisance for people in most residential areas. In Karachi’s Federal B Area, for instance, political parties casually install tents on main roads and use high-volume speakers to play campaign songs. They do not care about the health and rest needs of the people living in the area. Will the relevant authorities intervene in the matter?

BILLS AWAITED: Customers have the option to pay their bills online or by visiting a bank. I prefer the latter option, for which a paper bill is required. All of a sudden, the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has stopped sending the bills by post to my residence for the last several months. I reported the matter to their customer care centre (# 3022482), and was told that the problem would be resolved soon. It has not. The issue persists and my wait continues.

CHINIOT HOSPITAL: I recently had an interaction with doctors working at the emergency department of the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Chiniot. Their way of diagnosing patients was not satisfactory at all. They cared little for a proper check-up. This attitude of the doctors was surely not up to professional standards. The authorities concerned should look into the matter.
