Some 43 dead bodies were brought to Nasser Hospital in the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, the spokesperson for the Gazan Health Ministry told Reuters from the hospital.
Health ministry spokesperson Ashra al-Qidra said dozens of corpses were feared trapped under rubble or in locations unsafe for ambulances to recover them.
“Hospitals in the southern Gaza Strip are totally collapsing, they cannot deal with the quantity and quality of injuries that arrive at the hospitals,” he said.
Hospitals in Gaza are functioning on the brink of an electricity and fuel outage. The United Nations has warned that the situation is getting worst by the hour as Israel continues its bombing campaign in the Palestinian enclave.
