20 faint after taking marriage meal

GUJRANWALA, Feb 19: Over 200 guests suffered from food poisoning while 20 of them fainted after taking meal at a marriage ceremony at Qila Dedar Singh here on Sunday.

Reports said guests were served with lunch boxes prepared by a bakery. After some time, around 200 people suffered from food poisoning and 20 were admitted to hospitals. The groom and his family members were also among the victims.

ROBBERIES: Armed bandits looted two houses, a trader’s godown and also took away a car in four different strikes in and around the city here on Sunday.

Reports said that three outlaws, including a woman, entered the house of Shahid in Baghbanpura. They held hostage inmates and locked them in a room. Later, they collected jewellery worth Rs500,000, foreign currency of Rs20,000, wristwatches and other valuables and escaped.

Two bandits sneaked into the house of Waqas Bashir in Satellite Town and made the family members hostage at gunpoint. They escaped after scooping Rs200,000 in cash, 15 tolas of gold, mobile phones and electronic goods.
