Gaza’s health ministry has accused Israel of intentionally striking hospitals to shut them down, creating a “circle of death” for the wounded and displaced Palestinians, Al Jazeera reports.

“The Israeli occupation is deliberately bombing hospitals in Gaza to put them out of service,” health ministry spokesperson Ashraf al-Qudra said, adding that it was causing a “circle of death” for medical workers, along with the displaced and wounded.

Al-Qudra added that Israel had bombed several areas where displaced Palestinians were taking shelter near Gaza City, including the Salah ud-Din school, a building near the Baptist Hospital and a crowded square.

The hospitals that remain operational are struggling to cope with “an influx of dead bodies”, director general of Gaza’s health ministry Munir al-Barsh told Al Jazeera earlier today.
