RAWALPINDI: Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has asked the communication and works department to complete the revamping work worth Rs2 billion of Holy Family Hospital (HFH) by January 31 at any cost without compromising on quality.

During his visit to the hospital on Saturday, he reviewed progress being made on the hospital upgradation. He expressed his indignation over the quality of floortiles being used in the hospital.

He said he would not allow the quality of work compromised. He also visited the old building, OPD and various wards and reviewed construction. He went to the basement, ground floor, first floor and directed the contractor to speed up construction activities.

He underlined that the project would be completed before the stipulated time period that was why construction was being carried out without any break.

“We are completing the work in the old and new block of the hospital before the stipulated time. For now, 33 percent work has been completed in the old blockas against 26 percent work which was to be completed by Dec 1,” he said.

He said that the roads to connect Holy Family Hospital with other parts of the city are also being widened.

He said that upgradation work of more than 100 hospitals is going on which will soon be completed. “It is our utmost effort to improve the condition of hospitals before the expiry of our tenure,” he said.

Later, Mr Naqvi was given a briefing about progress being made on the up-gradation work of the hospital.

He gave directions to the officials concernedfor early completion of the renovation work.

Provincial Caretaker Minister for Primary and Secondary Health Dr Jamal Nasir, Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Rawalpindi Medical University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Umer, Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatha, RPO Rawalpindi Syed Khurram Ali, Deputy Commissioner Dr Hassan Waqar Cheema and officials concernedwere also present on the occasion.
