SARGODHA: Two minor siblings allegedly died after drinking anti-lice medicine at the 64-ML village in Bhakkar district on Saturday.

As per police, Fahad Adnan (10) and his seven-year-old sister, allegedly drank anti-lice medicine accidentally and fell sick. They were taken to hospital but could not survive. In another incident in Nautak area, a girl died after a pillar of a building collapsed on her.

Police said the girl was passing through a street when the accident occurred.

ARRESTED: Police claim to have arrested an injured suspect who was allegedly trying to escape, along with his two accomplices, after snatching motorcycle from a man.

As per police, three dacoits snatched motorcycle and cash from a man in the city area. On being informed of the incident, a police team chased the suspects who opened fire on policemen.

The police returned the fire and later arrested an injured suspect identified as Nauman of Chiniot.

Remand extended: The district and sessions judge on Saturday extended the physical remand of the former Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf member of national assembly Amjad Ali Khan Niazi for two days.

Following an 11-day remand, Mr. Amjad appeared in the court of District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Sulaiman Mughal as the anti-corruption establishment was on leave. During the hearing, the police sought a further 30-day physical remand, but Amjad Ali Khan’s counsel argued against it, suggesting either discharge or transfer to judicial remand.

After hearing both sides, the court approved a two-day extension to the physical remand, requiring his appearance again before the trial court on Dec 4.

Amjad Khan claimed innocence, denying involvement in any violence, vandalism, or incitement of the people during the May 9 episode. Amjad had voluntarily surrendered to the anti-terrorism court in Sargodha on Nov 21.
