SARGODHA: A suspect was injured in firing by his accomplices during an encounter in Jhal Chakyan police precincts on Monday.
According to Jhal Chakian police, Sikander, a suspect involved in multiple robbery cases, was being taken for the recovery of stolen property when his accomplices ambushed the police van in an attempt to get him released. During a crossfire, Sikander was injured in firing by his accomplices who managed their escape.
As per police, Sikander is considered a symbol of terror in the region and has been involved in numerous criminal activities.
MARRIAGE HALLS: Strict monitoring of marriage halls and marquees is going on to ensure implementation of one-dish policy by the district administration.
The assistant commissioners of tehsils inspected 57 marriage halls and marquees and fined three of them a total of Rs150,000 for violating one dish. As many as six halls were inspected in Shahpur, four in Sillanwali, 13 in Bhalwal and six in Bhera.
The owners of Al Saif Marriage Hall Sial Mor Kot Momin, Gloria Palace Shadi Hall Kot Momin and Palm Land Restaurant near Langarwala Bridge, Sahiwal, were fined Rs50,000 each for violating one dish.
UoS: The University of Sargodha (UoS) has taken a step towards international cooperation by signing an intent of cooperation agreement with Beijing An Sheng Universal Technology Development Co. Ltd. and Yongtai Automation Engineering (Shandong).
The intent of cooperation was signed by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, General Manager of Beijing An Sheng Universal Technology Development Mannuel Liu and General Manager of Yongtai Automation Engineering (Shandong) Li Liangliag.
The agreement aims to promote cooperation in student training to participate in academic activities such as training courses, conferences, and workshops under the auspices of a talent exchange programme and provide a platform to enhance digital communication, vocational, and technical cooperation.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr. Qaisar Abbas said the collaboration seeks to equip students with industry-aligned skills and enhance global opportunities. As part of this arrangement, UoS nominates students for China’s talent exchange, offering specialised skills, technical training, and job prospects through collaboration with Chinese entities.
