KARACHI: A magistrate on Friday remanded DSP Umair Tariq Bajari in judicial custody and handed over three more suspects to police in a case pertaining to a robbery during a raid on the house of a trader in Orangi Town.

The investigating officer (IO) produced DSP Bajari before a judicial magistrate (West) after his second physical remand expired.

The IO also brought the three civilian suspects — Mahfooz Hassan, Abdul Sattar, and Azhar — before the court and submitted that they were arrested on Thursday.

When the magistrate asked the IO whether he questioned SSP Imran Qureshi, he replied in the affirmative and submitted that those suspects were arrested after questioning the SSP.

About the recovery of looted money, the IO informed the court that over Rs10 million had been returned to the complainant.

The IO sought the custody of the suspects for questioning.

The court sent the DSP to prison on judicial remand.

It remanded the suspects in police custody till Nov 26 and directed the IO to submit a progress report on the next date.
