LAKKI MARWAT, Feb 17: A strike was observed in Serai Naurang here on Friday against the publication of blasphemous caricatures in some European newspapers. Shops and business centres in the town remained closed while protesters blocked the main road.

A procession was taken out from Majeedi Masjid in Serai Naurang that marched on streets, chanting slogans against US and Denmark, and other European countries where the cartoons were republished.

Provincial JUI-F chief MNA Maulana Amanullah Khan, leaders of other political parties and elected representatives led the procession.
