LAHORE: In a major overhaul, the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) on Tuesday announced a new selection committee, head coach, coaches and manager of the national senior and five-a-side teams.
PHF president retired Brig Khalid Sajjad Khokhar announced the appointments in Lahore during a press conference.
Asif Bajwa, the former PHF secretary, was named as new chief of the selection body which includes Olympians Anjum Saeed, Zeeshan Ashraf and Kamran Ashraf as its members.
Dutch coach Roelant Oltmans, who was hired recently as Pakistan junior team’s head coach, has been given the position of national senior team’s head coach for the third time. Olympians Shafqat Malik and Kashif Jawad were also appointed as coaches.
Former chief selector Olympian Kaleemullah has been installed as PHF observer — a newly introduced role — while former Olympian Shahbaz Senior has been hired as manager of the national team.
Meanwhile, management for the national five-a-side team has also been announced.
Waseem Feroze was named as five-a-side team manager while Qamar Ibrahim and Usman Sheikh and Mohammad Khalid were brought in as coaches.
Olympian Nasir Ali and Rana Shafiq have been announced as PHF coordinators.
