NAWABSHAH: A man was arrested after he allegedly slaughtered his wife and two small children at his home located in Abdullah Leghari village of Sanghar district on Saturday.

According to sources, the suspect, Shan Leghari, had returned home a couple of days back from Karachi, where he worked.

Officials at the Mangli police station claimed that he slaughtered his wife, Rukhsana Leghari, 35, and two daughters, three-year-old Sawal and 18-month-old Sehba. They said the suspect had been under interrogation since his arrest but he was not disclosing a motive behind the gruesome act.

The bodies were taken to the Sanghar Civil Hospital for a postmortem examination.

Road accident

An old man was killed when the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a truck at Lakhat Mori along Qazi Ahmed road on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Asghar Ali Mehar.

The area police said that Mr Mehar was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors referred him to the Peoples Medical University Hospital, Nawabshah, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
