TAXILA: As many as eight drug traffickers, including one woman, working for an inter-city drug smuggling racket, were arrested by the police during a crackdown against the narcotics mafia in the rural and urban areas of the twin cities of Taxila and Wah. Besides, they recovered ten kilograms of hashish from their possession, a police spokesman said on Saturday.

The spokesman informed that the Wah Saddar Police recovered 1.46 kg of hashish from Saeeda Bibi, around 1.25 kg of hashish from Zain, 2.60 kg of hashish from Shahzad, and 3.10 kg of hashish from Aamir.

While the Wah Cantonment Police recovered 1.50 kilograms of hashish from Muhammad Altaf and the Taxial Police recovered 1.20 kilograms of hashish from Wali Ullah, Moreover, the Taxila Police arrested Arsalan and Ihtisham and recovered 0.50 and 0.53 kilograms of hashish from their possession.

Separate cases were registered against the accused under Section 9-C of the Control of Narcotics and Substances (CNS) Act 1997, and further investigation was initiated.
