UAF, UET in semifinals

FAISALABAD, Feb 15: University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF), Punjab University, University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore and Balochistan University of Information Technology qualified for the semifinals of Inter-university chess championship at the UAF premises on Wednesday.

A total of 10 universities are participating in the event. The teams have been placed in two pools ‘A’ and ‘B’.

UAF is on top with 11 points in Pool ‘A’, followed by Punjab University at second spot with 7.5 points.

In Pool ‘B’ UET Lahore is leading with 11 points with Balochistan University standing a point behind at 10 points.

UAF and Balochistan University play the first semifinal while Punjab University and UET, Lahore will be up against each other in the second semifinal on Thursday.—APP
