ISLAMABAD: The Privatisation Commission (PC) on Monday decided to determine the value of the House Building Finance Company Ltd’s (HBFC) assets to help the government get their fair value while privatising the state-owned entity.

Caretaker Minister for Privatisation Fawad Hasan Fawad while chairing a meeting with the HBFC’s management emphasised the need for completion of the asset valuation at the earliest. He said the exercise should not remain limited to re-profiling the company’s real estate assets from residential to commercial.

The meeting also decided to bring reforms to the HBFC with particular emphasis on clearing the pension portfolio while bringing the employees to the market-based wage system.
